Sadly, this is the state of media for this time. Today’s media outlets are more interested in eyes than in thorough, researched news. Virtually the same thing happened 120 years ago, the original days of yellow journalism.

The problem is the US media are mostly defined by entertainment these days. Like the US justice system – best entertaining laywer gets the jury – and US politics – reality show host is president.
This is seeping into other countries pesting media and societies.
It makes people stupid, facts forgetable and the “truth” unreliable.
America is the reason for the world wide nationalism crisis. And Putin understood how to use it for his advantage.
