The American way is to believe that we are all created equal, that wee all have rights, and these rights include life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness. The American way doesn’t include letting 1% of the population get 80% of the wealth the country produces.
Yes, it does. If you are not rich God punishes you for your sins. So, all rich americans are good human beings and deserve their riches. If you are not part of the 1% it’s your own fault.
Zelda, ONLY IN AMERICA does *everyone* have the chance to become “the 1%”.
But thanks for showing, once again that, when the Left talks about “equality,”
they – including you – REALLY mean “equality” of POVERTY AND MISERY…
…except for the Totalitarian (communist or otherwise) Elite’s “1%”.
Kauf Buch isn’t part of the 1%. Never will be. He will pretend he doesn’t want it at all and is happy in the hole he lives. But the truth is he is jelaous of everyone else who has more than him. Even if these people do honest work and earn their money. He’s just too lazy or too stupid to get rich. Because in America he could if he just tried hard enough, couldn’t he? And he blames others for his misery – women, lefties and kittens.
@Kauf Buch: Sorry, the “American Dream” is just an old myth these days. Social mobility is actually close to the bottom when compared to other developed economies. Look at OECD figures, or this: http://www.epi.org/publication/usa-lags-peer-countries-mobility/
Top scorers in social mobility are Denmark, Norway, Finland and Canada, the US is close to the bottom. In the US, the deck is stacked against everyone but the 1% (or rather 0,01%), and with a cabinet composed of billionaires and former Goldman Sachs employees, it will remain that way. You’ll never be able to move out of your moms basement.
@Viele Bücher Gekauft yep exactly. Opportunity = social mobility, ie how easy it is for one in a lower class to move to a higher class. The US is so bad right now that the middle class is shrinking, the lower class is growing and those in poverty is also growing.
Now you can say they need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps but lots of high paying jobs require university degrees, university prices have been consistently going up quite quickly while the mimimum wage has remained stagnant for decades (adjusting for inflation it’s been going backwards for decades). So university just keeps going farther and farther out of reach.
Add to that insanely stupid healthcare prices in the US, did you know the US GOVERNMENT pays MORE PER PERSON for healthcare than nearly every other developed country, but are the WEALTHIEST country on earth and DOES NOT have public healthcare.

That’s true, it is the American way to expect people to pay for what they buy.
We’re strange like that.

I just came to comment on the name Zelda… Whenever I see it, the name reminds me of Pet Sematary…
The worst part is the coyote majored in feminist dance therapy and will never be able to pay that money back.
But…what about that Feminist Dance Therapy FACTORY
they just built down the road?!?!?
;)
Not even I would dance with you. That’s why I left you at side of the road in front of the bookstore, Kauf.
