Renaissance Paintings Recreated by Auto Mechanics

Featured below is a hilarious photo project by Freddy Fabris who had always wanted to pay homage to the Renaissance masters with his photos in some way, but he wasn’t sure how until he stumbled upon an auto-mechanic shop in the Midwest.

These are superb! I would buy a calendar with these photos on it. They are very beautiful and unusual.

Give us the name and location of that shop. No one should have to go there for repair and get caught in everyone posing and no one working. I’ve been to shops like that. Over charged and takes for ever to get the car back. However, if you stand around in the waiting room and watch you can see some remarkable representations of the old masters.

If you go to my local supermarket early you can catch them re enacting the Ancient Mariner. It’s annoying when you’re waiting to be served..

  5. Such great work!! What I think makes it especially spectacular is that these guys aren’t models and the photographer was able to direct and capture them looking so natural and relaxed in the spirit of the original inspiration paintings. So impressive!

I wouldn’t say those hairdos and moustaches are “looking so natural”
