  1. She is not the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in Medicine. Tu Youyou recieved the award in 2015. Before her the Nobel Prize in Medicine was given to these women:
    Gerty Theresa Cori, 1947
    Rosalyn Yalow, 1977
    Barbara McClintock, 1983
    Rita Levi-Montalcini, 1986
    Gertrude Elion, 1988
    Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard, 1995
    Linda Buck, 2004
    Francoise Barré-Sinoussi, 2008
    Elizabeth Blackburn, 2009
    Carol Greider, 2009
    May-Britt Moser, 2014

Tu Youyou was however the first chinese woman, but not the first woman.
