If you wont even follow your religion, why try to force it on others?
If you actually believe your religion, why would you elect a leader who is such a great example of the 7 deadly sins?

  4. Must be the reason why even economies with welfare smaller than the USA are leading in front of the USA. They can’t fend for themselves and therefore are better than the USA… yeah.
A working welfare and healthcare system strengthens a society and the economy as it produces a healthier, educated and motivated, indepentent working force.
But keep crippling yourself in the name of fake freedom. Keep being slaves of the 1%.
I live in a country with healthcare and welfare. It’s not even my country, but I can get both. Because my countries work together like a family. I am working class. I own a new car – sold in full at purchase. I own housing which I pay off easily. I will get a pension partially from two countries because I worked in both. I can afford to save up money for a private fund too, easily. I can fund my hobbies – easily. I get food, heating, everything. Still saving up money – for a new car maybe? Hm…
I could quit tomorrow. I would get welfare and healthcare for free because I paid into the system before. I wouldn’t have to sell all my stuff. I’d get money for my important needs, like food, heating, water. I would have time to pick a new job. Employers would have to have the best offer.
I gladly spend half of my income on taxes. It keeps helathcare and welfare running. It’s good others and myself, keeps us save.
    I live in Europe.
    Well, my life must suck.

  6. OR “like…. bank bailouts? “

  7. Well in america, we prefer to spend lots of money on healthcare, education etc instead of paying more taxes.

It’s such a great system. My insurance sucks, but I can’t change plans until I get a new job. So awesome. My insurance company wont have any incentive to improve either. ( Just the way it’s supposed to work in free enterprise, right?) I bet they still increase my rates next year, and my meds will go up too. It’s perfect really.

  8. No worries. The GOP is going to fix Obamacare annnnyday now I’m sure. So far, they made it a little worse, so nowhere to go but up from here.

  9. Obamacare worked pretty well for me. I went from having a $20 office co-pay and $10 prescription co-pay to a deductible two and a half times what it was with no co-pays. Two years after implementation my employer’s health insurance rates more than doubled while providing less coverage. It drove them to become self-insured, which defeated the economics of Obamacare because this large group of mostly healthy people were no longer in the insured pool. But that’s OK, because it came from Obama.

  11. In what percentage of the population? You’ll ever have some of something. That’s no argument, that’s reality. And there is no way or system to prevent it.

  12. That’s because Obamacare wasn’t a real healthcare system either. You would have to tear down the private sector and nationalize it. Simple as that … there is no alternative. As long as there is a private sector like there is now it will do everything to sabotage obamacarelike systems to get a gain from it.
Not Obamacare made it worse for you but the leeches of the private sector still controlling the market with fake prices.
Watch last weeks “Last Week Tonight”. It’s explained in every detail.

  13. The government provides the best healthcare. You just need to get elected to get access.

  14. Maybe if it were affordable to get to college or there was more low income housing they could actually get out of poverty.

Cutting off some of their food supply isn’t going to help.

  15. The private sector can sabotage everything because they can buy politicians. Follow MoveToAmmend.org It would help if we could end citizens united.

  16. I think the history of the subject will show that healthcare services and costs began to run out of control, when there was a shift from hospitals and health insurance companies being run on a non-profit basis to being run on a for-profit basis. When you’re in the hospital and both the hospital and the insurance company are trying to make money off of each other, the last thing anyone cares about is the quality, or the cost, of your care.

fwiw, I think doctors and nurses are underpaid. If you think they’re overpaid, then you should go get a job as a doctor or a nurse and get in on the gravy train. You’d be foolish not to. Pay doctors and nurses what they’re worth, and stop having companies trying to make profit off of your illness, and things will change.

  24. So robust in mind and body people born into an opportune post as were our all’s are likened here to top predator level park-dwelling bears. Ferocious get ‘er done bears taking something like food stamp food and giving them to their young too is a disruption in the fairness of nature. OMG, the burden that we wealth makers bear for these. Oh well; survival of the fittest, Jesus said.

  26. Exactly. Not only healthcare. Water supply, energy, public transportation, infrastructure.
The neoliberal dream is the nightmare for all.

  27. Because government taking your money and giving it to someone else is not charity. There is nothing redeeming in forced help of the poor. Christians should give to the poor of their own free will.

By thinking that taking money by force from people to give it to others isn’t forcing your beliefs onto others you show just how deluded you are.
Everyone is flawed. Trump is a sinner. So am I, so is everyone. The fact remains he is doing great things for the country and is the most pro life president ever. You can’t be critical of his flaws while ignoring the same ones in others.

  28. Look at any major city. You will find that there are frequently physical markers that separate the decent neighborhoods with the poor neighborhoods. Frequently, these markers are elevated trains or freeways. Things that generate constant noise and therefore are undesirable in a decent neighborhood. THIS IS BY DESIGN. Certain classes of people are herded into bad neighborhoods. Schools are paid by property taxes, so bad neighborhoods have bad schools. Those kids who go to these schools have little opportunity to break out of poverty. Local judges get kickbacks for everyone they sentence to prison, so they imprison people for stuff they used to get probation for (and the Amendment that bans slavery? It’s got a loophole… guess what it is?). Schools are encouraged to call the cops instead of enforce discipline themselves (doesn’t help that most bullies these days are psychotic AND clever enough to take their victims down with them).
Certain populations (mostly racial minorities) are set up from birth to either be miserable in poverty or to turn to crime for their one shot at a decent life. This is the true racism: when the entire system is set up to keep you down just because of the color of your skin. A white guy crying because someone called him “cracker” just doesn’t compare.
And no, your fake perception of increased diversity in media being “discriminating against white men” isn’t legit. You are not being persecuted, and certainly not to anywhere NEAR the same extent.

  29. According to the Cato Institute (hardly a welfare supporters), an average American spends half a year of their life using some form welfare and this already includes people who never worked for their entire life. Abusers of the system form a very small margin, as lame already wrote. Stating that country needs to abolish welfare because some people will abuse it is no different from stating that you need to ban guns because some people will use them to commit the crime.

  30. You do not get the welfare benefits or healthcare ‘for free’. It is just like mandatory insurance – depending on what happens, you might lose the money you paid into the system, or receive more that you paid, depending on the situation. Not the best solution, but not bad either.
Of course, depending on where you live, you might get crappy job offer (but it usually still better than being unemployed) and lose the welfare if you reject it on the grounds that you simply do not want to work. Such solution is introduced in many countries.
