Instagram Account “Pointless Packaging” Is Both Absurdly Funny And Infuriating

{15 Comments}

Plastic waste is one of the biggest environmental issues we are facing as a society, but that’s not stopping major supermarket chains and producers from packaging their items in the most pointless ways. These wasteful attempts range from baffling to downright hilarious, and there’s an entire Instagram account devoted to them.

A single strawberry in a giftbox for the lovely price of $168…. Who on this planet is dumb enough to buy that?

Anyways, the pictures are fine examples why plastic is a problem.

    • Those are Hong Kong dollars. So about 22 US Dollars. Still super expensive, but not as much as it initially looked.

      I’m so lonely…

  3. That is called “free market”, and there you have to follow to a “demand”. Oh, yes, and for unknown reasons “demand” is for
    Wait,
    you provoked me?

    • just sayin' January 18, 2020

There is no demand for stupidity.

Demand is created where it doesn’t exist.

IOW, no it isn’t inevitable and you are too easily provoked. :)

  4. If it’s not wrapped in plastic an American would not eat it. They need it for their digestion to work. Those plastic t*ts and balls need sustenance.

Aw EUro, give it a rest. Do you have to offer your opinion for everything. No one cares.

    • In America opinions are the same as facts. So he can do the same as Trump. No one asked for his tweets of lies.

Asia this Asia that. Mtf we in the West can be hypocrites..

  7. Those eggs are peeled. I appreciate the plastic around them.

Many of these pictures are not in America, but commenters are blaming Americans.

Some of the packaging is, in fact, necessary. A peeled boiled egg needs packaging to stay fresh and clean. Sliced pineapple needs packaging; unless you want people to just grab the juicy slices in their bare hand and store it in their pocket. I’m not sure why anyone would package an unpeeled banana, or a soda can. I think we can all agree that those are absurd.

  9. Absolutely psychotic. And this was before the whiney bitch flu that turned everyone into overreacting, paranoid, nazi psychos.
