Yeah, I can see where a fan of Adam Sandler, Craig Mazin, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Rob Schneider and Fred Wolf wouldn’t be familiar with the likes of Nora Ephron, Tina Fey, Annie Mumolo, Gillian Robespierre or Kay Cannon.
Success and quality don’t always go hand-in-hand. I’m sure there are good female comedy writers who can write refined comedy, but none of the has been able to write something that resonates with subhumans like me.
I’m more a fan of George Carlson, Steven Wright and Rowan Atkinson. Sorry, but Blackadder and Mr Bean are funny. His lunch still makes me laugh. Python is a given.
Anyone who likes George Carlson (his “5 dirty words you can’t say on TV” is a classic) clearly knows his stuff. Personally, my faves are Jerry Steinfield, Rob Williams (loved him on “Mark and Mindy” back in the 80’s) and Eddie Lizard.
@Oh snap: As a fellow subhuman I agree that Rattus’ list of female comedians is not to my liking (her male list is even worse though). But there is one female comedian I like to watch. Jo Brand crosses off all the boxes in this eatliver post: Feminist, sumo wrestler and comedian. And the way she puts down hecklers… they would have preferred the sumo wrestler treatment.
Totally understandable that MRAs/RWNJs think women aren’t funny when stacked up against quality witticisms such as this.
Had to google for successful female comedy writers. Hadn’t heard of any of their productions.

@Clockworth I see what you did there.

Haha, I didn’t think anyone would spot that.
Steinfield was overrated and I don’t care if he had a batman reference in every episode.
but this IS funny.
How
Me too, and I had a chuckle.
If you can’t laugh at yourself you have no right to laugh at anyone else.
Forever alone…
They don’t shave, the tsukebito assigns one of the shin-deshi to do it for them. Don’t ask what their other duties include.
“That’s NOT funny.”
heh
