That’s an absurd metric for the success of a country on the global stage.
During the space race, public education was well funded, and the tax on the wealthy was around 90%. The US space program used Nazi scientists, who were excused of their past because ‘Murica was afraid of the country that actually defeated Germany: Russia.
I admire NASA. They’ve been clever enough to embrace the metric system. They have achieved a lot despite the attempts of the religious, environmental vandals and other stupid Yanks to undermine them.
America has embraced stupidity as a virtue. Luckily there are a thin majority who managed at the last election to see and stop this, but the blatant corruption means that those who can see beyond the end of their noses will be gerrymandered into the darkness of conservative, superstitious, hateful America, which is how the country was founded and always lurks just below the surface.
The rest of the world sneers at America for a reason. Don’t consider it a compliment, you’re not rebellious, you’re childish.
