  2. Yes but most of the guys in 1944 would have rather stayed at home and have a quite live but some a***oles made them do this. The same kind of a***oles who now tell the guys today their generation is rotten. And, by the way, never were forced to do the things the guys in 1944 had to do. Oh what brave imaginary warriors you are!

  3. To put it into perspective:
I wonder what happens when Trump invades both Mexico and Canada, or China invaded Korea and Japan. There’s probably be a new group of allies, and motivation to act on it.

Before the wake of WWII, a lot of soft response the Nazis got was that nobody imagined they could be the demons the pessimists called them.

  4. Bad times make strong men. Strong men bring good times. Good times make weak men. Weak men bring bad times.

  8. You mean that these young heroes, who defended the world from nazis, would have rather stayed at home ? And, please, ask for some additional English lessons from your troll farm supervisors (correct is “quiet life” instead of “quite live”).

  9. You really should go back to high school. Not only to learn about the English language, but also about history. Many of those young men gladly went, even volunteered, to rid the world of the scourge coming from Germany, Italy, and Japan. It was a time of solidarity following the surprise attack at Pearly Harbor, much like that following the WTC disaster. You would be right at the front of the line protesting about having to go, and the first to complain about (and probably shot) how your rights were taken away by an enemy that could not care less about your rights.

  10. Effendi, I only wish that I could understand what you are trying to say. Go back to school and take a writing class.

  11. Too bad there’s not many of these brave people left. All that is left is their entitled children (Boomers) who managed to take over and totally screw up this nation.

  14. Every time a new generation comes around, the old folks just complain about how lame the kids are.

I’m sure in the 60s they would have felt the same. The parents fought the war and the kids just turned into a lot of long haired hippies and druggies. (who eventually turned out ok.)

I remember in the 80s and 90s, the old folks called us slackers, and they didn’t like our hair either. ( and we eventually turned out ok too.)

Now people like to complain about millennials and genZ. I’m pretty sure in the long run, they will turn out alright too.

  15. We can debate, whether Hitler came to power in Germany because of strong or weak men. But to me it seems obvious that the modern western weaklings should men up.

  16. Myself being from gen x, I still think that every generation after the war was worse than the previous one. Boomers – dumb entitled hippies, x – confused, and prone to addictions, millenials – where do I even start?

  17. Republicans keep pushing for safe space on universities and creating trigger warning. I like democrats: free speech above all.

  18. Yeah you armchair heroes, you know all about bravery aren’t you! I served in the army of my country, did you?

  19. I didn’t serve an army but did civil service instead. Though I totally understand what the Old Man […] is talking about.

  21. Weak men vote for Trump and other populists. They lead to regimes like Nazi Germany. And to war.

  23. Generation X is just fu**ed, because we get the disadvantages all the time. We get the cuts, we get all duties and no priviliges.
And the drug problem is more of an American phenomenom. Other countries have working health care and no opium crisis.

  24. I think he means alternative service [in lieu of military service]. Still more productive than armchair heroism.

  25. Soon president Trump will send more young men to other shores to die in a war he started. The armchair heroes will applaude, shed no tears, lose no drop of blood and will pray for the fallen.

  26. My guess is he hopes for everyone to forget about impeachment because of “pressing matters” and a “nation under attack”. I’m pretty sure he will be “the greatest commander of all times.” … according to himself.
