Already. Permanently. Tarnished.
Anikin killed the Jedi children in SW:III. Just a phase?
His "redemption" in SW:VI is a sick farce.

When these movies come out there will be swaths of fans of Episode 1, 2, and 3 who will complain that 7, 8, and 9 ruined the Star Wars universe. In truth, however, Star Wars has historically thrived the less Lucus was involved. The order of film quality goes: 5, 4, 3, 6, 2, 1 (from best to worst). 4 was a project started by Lucus but came with creative stipulations by Fox to include John Williams for the score, Ralph McQuarrie for the art design, and was forced to make some very intelligent changes from the turd he had (including scrapping all of the original special effects and highering a 3rd party company to do them). When Empire (Unquestionably the best one) came around Lucus was wanting to detach himself from the project as much as possible to expand himself artistically (HA!) and had the least amount of input. When that was a smash hit he jumped back in and gave us Ewoks so he could sell toys while the best scenes were added due to pressure from the studio. Then 1 and 2 were all him, while 3 he caved into fanbase pressure. The three worst films he was the most involved in. THe only REAL contribution that he did with Star Wars was saying "Samurias in Space". That's it! Now Disney has full control? Good, they can't be much worse than Lucus and they may even give us something good like they did with Pirates, Tron, James and the Giant Peach, Nightmare Before Christmas, Lilo & Stitch, Fantasia, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Arachnaphobia, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Like it or not, Disney can make some solid flicks.
