The trons just know what freq to frequent! überRegenbogen (Sunday, 15 Nov 2009) The pointer is on a taught cord on pullies, which is wrapped a few times around the shaft of the tuning knob, and connected to a large pulley on the tuning capacitor. Of these key parts, the pointer is usually the easiest to slip on the cord. So the radio still could be tuned (with slight difficulty) even though the pointer would not move in any significant way.
