Remind me why eating horse meat is so bad . . .

IT'S MADE OF HORSE MEAT!!!
@Cobra (Monday, 18 Feb 2013)
There's nothing essentially bad about eating horse, it's made of food like all animals. It's the fact that things were mis-labelled and people didn't know what they were eating. I'd eat horse, if it were on sale legitimately. I don't have a problem with that.

@Cobra
Animals that are not meant to enter the food chain can be treated with various different medicines which are harmful, for example they've found phenylbutazone in food labelled as beef.

The inconsiderate prick leaves your throat so sore.

@ dave, horses are meant to enter the foodchain, at least where i come from. i would not like to eat horsemeat if it was sold to me as beef. but horsemeat sold as horsemeat is actually quite good. salty n stuff. the stuff that they found at findus though is probably not very good guality meat.

It's for health reasons. The horse meat was obtained illegally, so you don't really know what horses were used. They give a lot of chemicals, like worming crap, to horses that isn't good for human health. The problems are one: the mislabelled product and two: improper care of meat horses, they probably used retired race horses or something.
